Strategic priorities

Bloomea has built its reputation on two devices — the La Fontaine macro-exfoliation system and the NeoCare Elite Tecar therapy platform — that combine three clinical-grade energies (Tecar up to 1MHz, Hi-EMS up to 4kHz and Hi-TENS up to 25Hz) with a beauty-Institute workflow. Since Winback Group's September 2022 acquisition, the brand has sat inside a multinational that already runs more than 10,000 devices across 55 countries and groups about $30 million of revenue through Winback Therapeutic Devices.

The immediate operational pressure sits in Europe. EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) Annex XVI now reclassifies aesthetic devices under medical scrutiny, requiring continuous Post-Market Surveillance (PMS), Clinical Evaluation Reports and vigilance reporting rather than one-off CE certification. CE marking under MDR is a lifecycle activity, and the data behind it is the data the device fleet either generates or doesn't.

The competitive reference point is Hydrafacial Syndeo: a cloud-native, OTA-updatable device with smart consumable sensing, gesture control and a global treatment data lake. High-end clinics, which are consolidating into chains, buy connected fleets with centralised dashboards that show utilisation across every city; Bloomea's installed base does not yet produce that view. The gap is the route to large-chain sales and to the SaaS-like recurring revenue the Winback acquisition thesis assumes.

Closing the gap is the work in front of Alexandre Lamoureux (COO), whose background is in SaaS and AdTech (former COO of Acquisio), and the Winback founders Christophe Buée and Pierre-Nicolas Lebas, who took CAPZA-backed capital in December 2021 to scale the group internationally. The work is not a new generation of devices; it is a connectivity and data layer that turns what the NeoCare Elite already measures into the evidence the regulation and the market both expect.

    Reading session data from devices that do not transmit it

    Bloomea's NeoCare Elite and La Fontaine devices operate without Wi-Fi, cellular or cloud connectivity. Hydrafacial's Syndeo system offers cloud-native telemetry, OTA (Over-the-Air) updates and smart consumable sensing; Bloomea devices do not transmit session parameters, energy delivered or error logs anywhere by default.

    Where the device fleet has no data path off the equipment, the population the operations team can review is whatever a beautician chooses to type into a companion app at the end of the day. A connectivity layer that pulls data off the maintenance port turns the same review into a check on every session that ran.

    Producing MDR Annex XVI post-market evidence at scale

    EU MDR Annex XVI reclassifies aesthetic devices under medical scrutiny. CE certification is no longer a one-off event: it requires continuous Post-Market Surveillance, Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSUR) and Clinical Evaluation updates across the device lifecycle.

    Where vigilance reporting depends on passive complaint handling and manual forms, the population under review is the complaints that reached the inbox. A workflow that confirms no adverse event at session close and aggregates outcomes across the fleet produces a continuous positive data trail instead.

    Connecting the Olympe companion app to what the machine actually did

    The Olympe application captures what a beautician plans to do for a client — chosen protocol, planned duration, notes — but it does not see what the NeoCare Elite actually delivered in that session, because the device has no link back to the app.

    Where treatment records are built from manual entries made with wet hands between clients, the data the company sees is partial by default. Pairing the app with machine-sourced parameters makes each record self-describing and removes the friction that suppresses adoption.

    Synchronising French planning with Korean production

    Critical electronic components for the NeoCare line are produced at Winback Go East in Wonju-si, South Korea and shipped through distributors in the United States, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland. Demand signals between Biarritz, Wonju-si and the distributor network are not unified.

    Where production planning in Korea reads demand from one signal and distributor activity reads from another, the result is the bullwhip effect — small demand swings at the edge become amplified swings in component orders at the source. A shared forecast view between French sales, Korean production and distributor demand compresses that gap.

    Protecting the consumable revenue stream without a digital handshake

    La Fontaine runs entirely on single-use disposable tips and NeoCare Elite relies on proprietary conductive creams. Neither consumable carries authentication; salons can in principle substitute third-party consumables without the device knowing.

    Where the consumable is anonymous to the device, the recurring revenue stream is exposed to silent substitution. A short-range digital handshake between consumable and device turns that exposure into a visible record without changing the physical workflow.
