A premier R&D facility focused on perfusion processes. The client needed to transition from post-experiment data analysis to real-time process intelligence to accelerate the development of complex biological products.

BUSINESS NEEDS
Scientists were drowning in raw data but starving for insights. The critical need was to contextualize live data streams - transforming abstract sensor readings into actionable biological KPIs (like Growth Rates and Viable Cell Density) - to allow immediate comparison against the ideal "Golden Batch."

CHALLENGE
To help our client achieve its goals, we overcome the following challenges:

Critical insights were often only available days after the experiment via offline Excel reports. -
Complex Calculations
Key metrics like CSPR (Cell Specific Perfusion Rate) required integrating data from multiple disjointed sources (scales, sensors, offline samples). -
Visualization Gap
Lack of intuitive tools to visualize trends and deviations in real-time.

SOLUTION
We provided a robust Data Intelligence layer, automating the calculation of critical process parameters and visualizing them through high-performance dashboards. The solution entailed:
- Advanced KPI Engineering Automated the calculation of 12+ critical KPIs (including VCD, VVD, and Bleed Rates) directly within the data platform.
- "Golden Batch" Context Enabled overlay of current run data against historical "best run" profiles, allowing immediate deviation detection.
- Grafana Dashboard Ecosystem Redesigned visualization interfaces to match P&ID layouts, offering scientists a familiar and intuitive view of the process.
- Data Source Integration Unified offline analytical results with online sensor data into a single source of truth (InfluxDB).
