Global biopharma company wanted to understand what are business motives and drivers, and how to align the IT projects with this strategy and how to deliver innovatives digital capabilities faster. The new IT projects can lead to new business processes and new capabilities and skills to deliver them need to exist within the enterprise. Solid EA framework and practical processes are useful to achieve this.

Regulations included in the assessment:

The main goal of the project was to document Enterprise Architecture and to define Customer Architecture Standards and Engineering Principles for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with centralized oversight and governance on security and privacy controls. Definition of standards for architecture design, secure engineering and development helped in overall products roadmap development. Also it helped to make products’ development more standardized, flexible, and secure.

The scope of this initiative included, but it was not limited to:

  • Documentation of system environments architecture and architecture assumptions, in details,
  • Establishing architecture documentation templates,
  • Implementation of regular (quarterly/annual) architecture reviews in accordance to business surrounding and its growth.


Thanks to delivered frameworks, standards and guidelines Customer is able to adapt faster to the business dynamics and changes. Enterprise Architecture is helping to ensure that new ideas can transform into real implementation without affecting the current systems and operations. Reusability of existing IT assets increased, allowing to deliver new capabilities with lower efforts.
